In this page Solar Panel discussions will take place.

I had bought in 2003 a 10 watts solar panel from Ebay. This was not specified for marine use rather than for a caravan and I bought it very cheaply just for experimenting. In order to use it aboard Efaki, I made a pole  from an old Microphone adjustable pole (from the radio station that I used to work) modified it and bolted it to a window frame in which I had inserted the panel.

Also you can see here a photo of the solar panel that was placed on the push pit with temporary wiring.

Update Jan 21st 2004:

The solar panel although is only 10 watts rated seams to trickle adequately the batteries during the winter as every time I check on Efaki the engine starts immediately. At the same time the pole has rusted so I have to replace it. It seams after all that it was not stainless steel. So far the use of the solar panel has convinced me about the usefulness and although they are still quite expensive I plan to buy a bigger and marine proper in the future.
