On May 5th 2008 we launched Efaki following a period of
winterization ashore that lasted almost 6 months. Here is the process:

Thanasis Kotsakis the yard proprietor prepares to lift Efaki on his truck. As
soon as this was done, I scrubbed and antifouled the places of the hull that
were touching the barrels that kept Efaki up stand.
Then we hit the road for Alimos (Kalamaki) marina where we launched Efaki. As
usual I kept behind the trucks with the alarms switched on in order to keep away
the "curious" and stupid who could create an accident out of
nothing.

A thorough check was performed for leaks as soon as Efaki was splashed that
was followed by the mast placement and trimming. Then I put on the sails and
departed for Microlimanon.

It was a beautiful evening with a nice northerly breeze perfect for sailing,
alas I have not had the time to open sails as I wanted to be in my permanent
mooring in daylight so as to check and adjust lines. Hope to complete various
chores shortly as connecting the wires of the mast, tidying up, cleaning and
preparing Efaki in general, so as to start sailing with family and
friends.
