Home Up

In the past the wires that go up the mast, were passed through holes near the mast foot that were kept waterproof by silicon sealant. It was time to do something about it and in April 4th 2003  I finally placed in front of the mast three waterproof cable clams. One wire is for navigation (tricolor) and anchor lights. One for motoring and deck lights. Also there exists the VHF antenna cable and the wind sensor cable (the last two, since thin wires were passed both in the same cable clam). That way the situation has improved aesthetically and in the long run the wires will be not harmed and easy to remove for a mast down, while at the same time the interior of the cabin will be waterproof.
